DUSTY GROOVE (the best internet

The genius of
Jerome Richardson -- remixed! Richardson's funky flute
and searing tenor work have appeared on some of our favorite jazz
groove classics -- both European and American -- and here, two of his
tunes are made by Nicola Conte and Panoptikum! Conte uses a host of
extra musicians -- vibes, piano, alto, and vocals -- to expand
Richardson's "Way In Blues" with an incredibly groovy and snapping sort
of sound. Schema jazz meets the classic MPS groove -- with incredible
results! Panoptikum go for a more modern approach with "Minor Flute" --
snapping the beats a bit more, but still allowing plenty of space for
Richardson's wonderful work on flute!

A hot
one
from the ever interesting Cosmic Sounds. Another must-have,
sample-free
rework by Nicola Conte of 'Way In Blues', and a funky-fusion
non-sampled
version of 'Minor Flute' by 2 thirds of Les Gammas as Panoptikum.
NIGEL PRANKSTERS (3hedz)
special 12" this.Since the yam
Who /Blackbeard thang took off , the term Rework has
been bounded about a lot and sometimes without
justification .This release can justifiably call itself so, as
Bossa king Conte and two thirds of the Les Gammas outfit throw
away the samplers and play this shit from scratch, in a huge gesture to
these rare tracks (1960 Belgrade originally). The Champaigne kings mix
is a full on band ting, done with his inimitable ear for
detail.Pantoptikum do funky fusion with da phat beats and Mark franck
playing every instrument under the sun.Wicked!!!!!

Projet
de
remixes sur Jerome Richardson, un jazzman made in US maîtrisant
dans le milieu des djs, longtemps inspiré par ; entre autre ;
Well Done mister Conte !

Reworked
in this case means a completely new recording, without any use of
samples from the original. And who could do this better within the
Nu-Jazz mafia than the boss of Bossa Nicola Conte? Our man in Bari
swings like an original master from the 60s. His “Big Band” is
discreetly orchestrated and conducted with elegance.
In contrast, Panoptikum (2/3 from Las Gammas) comes across as modern
and powerful with a “Minor Flute” that at times might even strike you
as oriental. Cosmic Sounds times two for the jazz floor.
